JesusI wanted to shoot this for a long time. A very simple photograph of Jesus.

Now I’ve seen paintings but not a photographic representation, because a photograph can give reality to a seemingly impossible situation.

Jesus is this real for a lot of people.

What Would Jesus’ Picture Look Like????

NOW: Today I return to the Tolles Stret Mission to take more pics of the youth ministry and get audio for the project.

So excited!!

My chance to give back using what God gave me. This is something I want to do over and over. I pray I do well.

Imminent Victory

This image was a breakthrough for me.

I have been dreaming of a concept to photograph for a while, and I’d either been too lazy or scared to make it happen.  Secretly I knew that once I went down this path there was no turning back.  It had the potential to be that powerful for me, and so it had the potential to be a colossal failure as well.  I’d either cross the threshold into an exciting phase in my photography or take 3 steps back in confidence.  You’d think I was over-dramatizing here.

But alas.

My mother was a HUGE help in realizing my dream.  She got the girls and props together for the shot, including directing them as I specified.  This image was taken on Wingaersheek Beach on Cape Ann in Massachusetts.  A little on the chilly side but I wasn’t feeling it—I was giddy!  Like immature, gag-me-with-a-spoon-giggling, giddy.

It wasn’t too overcast and the clouds were interesting. I brought my husband and son along to play on the beach while I created, my mother was involved and watched me take pictures for the first time and I worked with people I loved and who loved me doing what I loved.

It was an amazing experience.

The young lady playing the angel is my muse.  She’s on the homepage of my website and has a unique, old-world Edwardian look that just doesn’t get old.  She photographs VERY well and is always willing to help me realize some of my artistic goals.  I have plans for her.

*insert evil laugh here*.

Plus she gets cool pics to show her peeps at school.  They think I’m cool :-) .

Easter. Yeah, Easter.

Easter

PREFACE:

I’m not a writer.  Not even close.  Bear with me as I put my heart on the internet.

THE PHOTO:

I really, really like this picture.

One thing I love about art in general is you can take the  mundane and turn it into something exquisite.  I can’t tell you how I came about my florals because I acutely objected to the notion.  This is one of those times God comes in.  Only He could’ve changed my heart because I took these like I was back in Botany.  This was taken in natural window light with my husband’s black suit coat as a background, on a tripod with shutter release.

I named it Easter because the colors remind me of Spring and Easter eggs.  A little strange because judging from my first two posts you’d think I specialized in color but I don’t.  I love, love black and white.  That’s how I see.

But I love this one.

Thank you God.

Here we go…

Geisha

This is my Geisha.

Outwardly she’s confident, competes well in a “man’s” world and gives as good as she gets.

Inwardly she feels old, used and comical.
