Bag

For 10 years
I had
kept my mother-in-law
Outside my heart.
While I was a long-standing
Tenant
In hers.
And you know what?
She kept me there.
Despite me.
And forgave me
Quickly.
So,
Like always
she came knockin again.
This time
I let her in.
She didn’t mind
Or didn’t see,
Or didn’t care about
The mess in the corner
I didn’t have a place for
Yet.
She just
Walked in
Like she knew
She was gonna
Like the place.
Now
She sits with the others
On the porch
of my heart
Sippin
Lemonade
And playin
Dominos.
The pic:
A photo
Not possible
Without
Deborah.
My mother-in-law.
