The NEED
To create
A photograph
At times
Is palpable.
There’s an itch in my heart
God scratches
With photography.
It’s solitary in creation
But can bless many
Like God’s creation
Of His most prized possessions.
And sometimes
There’s no hidden meaning
Just a thing of beauty
To be fostered
Created
And shared.

The pic:

Evan had a tough time in the children’s ministry in church today.
Sometimes he knows when he’s been bad.
Today he had absolutely no control of his emotions.
Daddy just held him.

I have not
Because I ask not
But He gives me
A soft spot
To land on
Even though
I hurl myself out of
Buildings
I built
Without Him.
And I don’t know why
He does it
Or when
He will
Except
In spite
Despite
And for spite
Will not stop
Him.
And damn it,
That’s exactly
What I need. :-)

Me when I should be sleeping.
Wide awake and needing to take a picture of SOMETHING.

Eh hemmmm…

Listening

to the crickets.

And birds.

While editing.

Using new software.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh…

Peace.

THE PIC:

Trisch.

Beautiful and willing participant.

For my diabolilical

Silver Efex Pro experiments.

MUAAAAH HAA HAA HAAAAAAAAA.

:-)

Here we go…

Been REALLY getting back into the film thing.

I actually,

scary for me,

looked at a 4×5 VIEW camera.

*insert gasp here*

And that’s a whole other mentality.

Might not be enough woman for that.

FOR NOW.

I am currently bidding on a 6×7 Pentax.

Then will have to wait for a lens.

And wait for a scanner.

(Lord, what patience you’re teaching me.)

Speaking of the Lord…

Since man is God’s greatest creation…

…and I want to honor and give glory to God…

I’ll be concentrating on portraits for awhile.

One of the Rigordaeva sisters.

(shameless plug, and I do mean shameless: more on my website from the session)

Ilford XP2, 35mm

NATURAL LIGHT.

Ahhhhhhhhh…

Natural light.

God’s strobe.

:-)

Wow wow wow.

So I think family life will start returning to normal.

Finally.

It’s been a while.

And I’ve been having issues with my shooting.

I want my clients happy.

But I don’t want to compromise

oh, lets say,

Me.

You pay for my creativity.

Not my adaptability.

Nuff said.

The Pic:

A client wanted pics of his daughter

for her birthday.

But she wanted to play.

I love this picture.

I think no matter how old we get

Sometimes we just wanna crawl between daddy’s legs

and hide.

:-)

Goodness.

So I’ve accepted that I’m

REALLY BUSY.

For now.

And more about to be on my plate.

But I’m hoping

it will benefit others.

Stay tuned.

THE PIC:

Client about to get out there

on her own.

She’s starting a fashion blog.

You go.

:-)

Lift.

Ok so now I’m busy.

And tired.

But having a good time.

Is that weird?

I complain about the time I spend

in front of the computer.

But can’t stop.

And I like what I see.

THE PIC:

Shot this past weekend.

My muse Ms. D.

Aged.

She looks

royal.

Hair and makeup done by

the other Ms. D

(see previous post)

I like it.

By Force.

THE PIC:

A mother and daughter I shot this weekend.

They have matching necklaces.

And all are adorable

:-)

******************************************

I’ve had a couple of shoots over the last couple weeks

and more booked until the end of the month

because I’m forcing myself to say yes.

I grew up with No.

It’s a close and comfortable friend.

Very dependable.

Like the bad friend you weren’t supposed to hang with.

But you hung in there thinking there was good in them.

Then you grew up

and realized your parents were right.

Me and No need some space.

Don’t cry No.  It’s not you,

it’s Me.

:-)

Clinch.

Sometimes good news doesn’t stay

good.

Not saying it turns

bad.

Just saying sometimes it

levels off.

Like a mild breeze

after a bright, sunny day.

And I’m aaaaaalright with that.

:-)

Knew.

Flashing back is fun.

But can be dangerous if you don’t come back to the now

quick.

SUBJECT CHANGE:

I’ve been researching masterpiece paintings.

Which has been both informative

and incredibly inspiring.

Honestly…

*whispering*

I want to make art like that.
